Board Certified Diplomates

Welcome!
For those who hold the Board Certified Diplomate (BCD) certification, ABE offers nationwide recognition as an advanced clinical social worker, board certified and observant of the highest professional standards. In support of that recognition, ABE publishes an OnLine BCD Directory including your personal profile; offers specialty credentials; conducts programs in education and advocacy; intervenes with employers, payors, insurers, and government agencies; and issues the following:

• Position statements on topics important to advanced clinical social workers;
• BCD NewsFlash, an electronic newsletter, and The Diplomate newsletter (occasional), about clinical social work practice, regulation, policy, and research; and
• Email Blasts bringing timely news and opportunities to take action on important political and practice-related matters.
  

In addition, as a BCD clinician you may use interactive online services to: 

• Update Your Directory Listing, to refresh your online profile whenever you choose, with contact, education, state licensure, employment and practice information. You may also update your profile by downloading a Directory Information Form (PDF) for mailing or faxing. 
  
• Recertify Annually, based on currency of practice and continuing education (view Recertification Standard for Continuing Education (PDF)), state licensure in good standing, and adherence to ABE's Code of Ethics, subject to audit. You will be notified, via email and mail, when your annual recertification is due.
