Mission and Goals

Mission
The mission of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work is to establish and promote uniform national standards for advanced clinical social work practice.

Goals
1. To establish and promote uniform national standards in the areas of education, training, practice competency, and ethical practice, for advanced clinical social workers.
2. To ensure the survival and vitality of ABE board-certification well into the 21st century.
3. To collaborate with other clinical social work organizations to address issues affecting the clinical social work profession.
4. To ensure that the activities of the board of directors are supportive, consistent with, and accountable to ABE'S mission and goals.
5. To ensure the survival and vitality of advanced clinical social work ideals and practice well into the 21st century.
